My name is Jamee Bryant. I’m married, 35 years old, and the owner of an event design company called Setting the Mood. My childhood was seemingly normal up until the age of 11. Nearly everything in my life changed that year. I experienced abuse, my mom and dad divorced and our family fell apart. We went from living in a well to do neighborhood to not having a place to call home. There was a sense of fear about bills being paid, not having food to eat, not having a stable home, and ultimately experienced a loss of security in almost everything I knew to be true. I quickly learned that ‘you can’t count on anyone except yourself’ and I was in survival mode for a very long time.
It wasn’t until I started attending Life Church in February 2007 did I know there was something more for me. I learned that if I trust in God, He will guide me and care for me… forever. I heard things at Life Church that I had never heard in my life. Things like: “God loves you and wants the very best for you”, “God is in control of your life” “God will protect you”. These words…to this day bring tears to my eyes.
I’ve learned to trust in God and my entire life has changed for the better. There was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders when I began putting God first in my life. My anxiety level is much lower, I sleep better at night and I have an overall peace about my life. I’m looking forward to growing stronger in my faith and experiencing all that God has planned for me.
