         Building Purchase Campaign

Why we are purchasing our building...

Life Church is raising money for the down payment to purchase the building we are currently leasing at 9101 West 10th Street.  The first stage is a 52 day Campaign to raise the first part of an $ 80,000 down payment.

We are using the building daily for offices, meeting space, our Imagination Station Childcare and Preschool, ESL classes, Life Groups, youth Basketball outreach, food pantry, Sunday Services, Nights of Worships, LifeKid’s, Experience Youth Group, and numerous other classes and gatherings.

We can do more ministry and outreach at this location which should serve our needs for years to come.  Recently, an architect looked at the building and showed us how we can add a new auditorium onto the front of the building to seat 800 people in the future.  This means we can effectively seat over 2,000 people in weekend services with all the classrooms accommodating our children.

God placed us in this community to bring God’s Kingdom to the people who are our neighbors.  The timing is right to purchase the building and God has worked supernaturally behind the scenes to make this opportunity available.

Last month we came within a few hours of losing this facility.  Another church placed a bid on the building that we would not have been able to meet as far as the terms.  God gave us favour with the church who owns the building and they not only are accepting our bid, but they are also giving us till August of this year to close, and they are willing to loan us to half the money for a down payment.

Here is a letter I received after we signed a Letter of Intent a few weeks ago.

Pastor Tony,

It has been a pleasure working with you and your team during the entire process of lease agreement and now purchase agreement. I can tell you that our relationship we have built with you and your team made a big difference.

You and your team have been very candid and completely upfront on all concerns and issues has been a very big part of getting this accomplished.  So your team can have confidence they made the right move and we were not trying to just negotiate with you,  I can tell you that our next counter offer #7 (they started very low) on Thursday evening was going to be $815k.

We feel that it was "likely" that they were going to accept that offer.   If not, our final offer was going to be $810k and we think it would have been "extremely likely" they would have accepted that offer.

We realized that if we waited to give you only a first right of refusal that this was probably going to put your congregation in a very tough position.   We realized that this deal is not all about money and it is how we grow the ministry of God so our team felt led to assist in additional ways to help Life Church make it happen.

None of the items such as not having immediate closing, assisting with down payment and continuing with repair costs were in the other deal.

Also, to let your team know this property was appraised about 5 years ago at 1.2 million and we had it sold several years ago close to that time for about 1.25 million.   Of course the market is much different than it was during that time frame.     I am telling you these things so you can use to help communicate to your team and help with building campaign fund.

I realize your church is taking a leap of faith but I truly feel it is God's plan for you to continue your ministry at that facility and with God's help you will have a very successful campaign.  We will be praying for your success of your campaign fund and look forward to closely working with you in the future.

Blessings on you and your congregation!

So we have a deal to purchase this building officially next August and another purchase offer cannot be accepted.  But, the challenge is we have to raise our down payment.  The purchase price is $ 810,000.

We have committed to hit two goals by putting $ 20K into an escrow account by the end of Feb. and another $ 20K by the end of Apr.

How are we going to do it?

Life Church members have pledged over $ 40,000 in the first two weeks so we are more than half-way to our goal.

People have begun donating items we will sell including jewelry, guns, a car, artwork, collectibles, exercise equipment, and more.

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  Matthew 6:19-21
